Here is another wonderful hymn for Eastertide, played and sung separately by members of the choir, then assembled through technology. Arthur Sullivan’s tune Lux eoi has everything that a festal hymn tune should have. Please listen or sing along, as you prefer.
Some Christians have commented that celebrating the feast of Easter at a time when the world is full of fear and worry has parallels with the state of mind of the disciples in the early hours and days after the Resurrection. Malcolm Guite (poet and chaplain in another university city somewhere in the eastern part of the UK) writes a wonderful blog, on which he has included a poem which captures this beautifully.
